Computer Projection for Friday 28th
November 2008
1st of Dhull Hajjah
is likely to be 29th November for UK (sighting in Morocco or South
Africa) and therefore Eid-ul-Adha
in UK on 8th December 2008.
Birth of the Dhul'Hijjah moon is going to take place
on 27th November (Conjunction Time: 27/11/2008 CE, 16:55 LT).
Although the crescent moon will not be able to be sighted anywhere
in the world on that day, it is very likely to be sighted on the
following day - 28th November, in parts of Americas and on the
North western and South western areas of the African contenent
, initiationg Dhull Hijjah for these regions on 29th Novermber
2008. This would mean that Dhull Hijjah will start on two different
days for different people around the world. However, knowing the
Saudi formula and if they do go by it, Dhull Hijjah will start
in Saudi Arabia on 29th November despite the fact that it would
be impossible to sight the crescent in Saudi Arabia the previous
day! This, by the ironic twist mentioned above, would give us
in the UK same start as Saudi Arabia for a change. Hujj (Yum-al-Arrafah)
will be called on 7th November and Eid-ul-Adha on 8th for the
countries that follow actual sighting/Saudi Arabia/Middle East
and on 9th for the subcontinent and far East.
